I felt many people who watched the Netflix series walked away believing that everything depicted was 100% factual. This led me to watch interviews & read older material about Jeffrey & Lionel Dahmer. Something didn’t feel right as the media coddled them instead of approaching them accordingly, so I dug a little deeper. There was so much misinformation or narratives the media at-large helped manufacture. I wanted to put the focus on the community he harmed. His former neighbors especially. They truly took him in & the betrayal they must’ve felt after his final arrest. Also, I wanted to write something that gets the point across without divulging on the horrific details. I kept in mind a loved one to one of his victims might stumble across this. I appreciated you taking the time to read my analysis & giving encouraging feedback.
