In academia, many like to perform revolutionary thought but when the time comes to do the actual work, they seem to do the bare minimum or nothing at all. Not all are like this as we see many students and faculty across campuses putting their safety and livelihoods on the line to stand in solidarity.

We also must remember that real human beings are being subjected to unimaginable violence as I type this. This isn't an abstract thought or a debate. During lectures and seminars I was enrolled in, there were debates about who gets to be human and/or deserves to live. It left me feeling really unsettled.

Didn't mean to leave a longwinded comment. I liked this piece.
