Reading some of Vernell Bass’ book surprised me. It made me feel terrible for the tenants of the Oxford Apartments. Creating a safe space for themselves in an underserved neighborhood was a miracle. They welcomed Dahmer into the fold, no questions asked. He violated their trust & took full advantage of their kindness. Also, finding out historical details about the LGBTQ+ & racial relations with the City of Milwaukee was important, too. Lastly, the truth about the Dahmer family dynamics were a lot to take in. The series caused so much misinformation. I’m glad I did the legwork for this article. I’m even more glad you found merit in what I presented. Thank you so much!
