The killing of Eyad al-Hallaq haunts me. He was on his way to his special needs school when murdered at a checkpoint. The officer was acquitted because he claimed "self-defense". Now, doesn't this sound familiar? The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights summed it up to be: "...the routine use of lethal force by Israeli Security forces against Palestinians in Gaza and in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem".
